Mary S. Heath Deputy commissioner, New Hampshire Department of Education; ECS Commissioner Mary Heath is deputy commissioner for the New Hampshire Department of Education. Previously she has worked as a grant writer for the Manchester School District, with the New Hampshire Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the New Hampshire Principals Association. She has been an assistant superintendent of schools, and at the New Hampshire Department of Education was the team leader for the Improving America's School Act programs and assisted in writing the IASA state plan to the U.S. Department of Education. Heath began teaching in 1970 as an elementary teacher in New Hampshire.
