Valerie Otero Assistant Professor of Science Education, University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado Valerie Otero is an associate professor of science education at the University of Colorado-Boulder and a principal investigator on university-wide projects including the CU-Teach initiative and the nationally replicated STEM-Colorado Learning Assistant program. Her research ranges from studies of teacher knowledge to examining how students learn physics concepts and processes. She has published broadly in physics education in journals ranging from Science magazine to Science and Children. Otero is the co-author of two widely used curricula in physics and physical science.
